Originating in the 17th century, Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique that blends functionality with aesthetic beauty, reinforcing fabrics with a running stitch pattern. While the traditional method is done by hand, the use of a Jacquard loom allows for the incorporation of Sashiko-style stitching during the weaving process, resulting in a durable and character-rich fabric with subtle pops of color throughout its deep indigo design.
