Trabuco Classic Straight 12oz Vintage Blue Denim

Freenote Cloth’s signature denim, now in a broken twill version they’ve been chasing for nearly a decade.

This 12 ounce “Vintage Blue” fabric is their take on what they call G.I. Blue, inspired by a rare vintage roll of selvedge they came across years back with a uniquely pale tone. They even went as far as digging into Cone Mills White Oak trying to trace its origin, but the exact source remained a mystery. The best guess points to wartime production, where limited dye supplies likely led to that washed out blue.

Recreating it took eight years of trial and error, and this is the result. A faithful reproduction with that soft, slightly faded look right from the start.

The broken twill construction keeps things comfortable and helps prevent leg twist, while the 12 ounce weight makes it an easy everyday jean.
