White Japanese Striped Oxford

This season we really leaned into Gitman Vintage's Japanese fabrics. 

This White Striped Japanese Oxford is a quiet nod to the long, intertwined history between American style and Japanese craft. Rooted in Amekaji, Japan’s take on classic 20th century American clothing like Ivy and workwear, this shirt sits right at that intersection. What started in the 1960s has grown into its own design language, and this fabric wears that story well.

Woven in Japan, the Oxford cloth takes familiar American striping and filters it through an Amekaji lens. A pre-wash treatment gives the fabric a subtly crinkled texture and a softly vintaged look that feels broken-in from day one. Large gauge yarns add weight and character, making the weave feel chunkier and more substantial without losing versatility. A classic fabric, reinterpreted with intention and depth.
